China says won't raise oil product
Wednesday, January 9, 2008
BEIJING (XFN-ASIA) - China will not raise prices of electric power, natural gas or oil products in the near future, the State Council said.
In a statement on the main government website, the State Council, or cabinet, said that China will also step up efforts to ensure the stabilization of other government-guided prices.
The State Council said global prices for many of these commodities are rising and that in turn is putting upward pressure on domestic prices. It also said that it is aiming to avoid additional inflationary pressure.
These were among the key points of a State Council meeting chaired by Premier Wen Jiabao today, according to the statement.
